Big News: Neurosity OS is Going Open Source – Here’s Our Roadmap
We have some exciting news that marks a significant milestone for Neurosity: we’re officially open-sourcing the Neurosity OS! This is a huge step forward for our community, and we’re thrilled to share our plans with you.

Future-Proof Your Device: By open-sourcing the OS, we’re ensuring that the Neurosity platform will remain robust and adaptable, even in the unlikely event that our company ever went down. This move puts the power directly in your hands, allowing you to continue innovating and optimizing your Neurosity devices.
Stability You Can Build On: The Neurosity OS has reached a level of stability that makes this the perfect time to open it up to our community. Developers, this is your chance to build on a solid foundation, tweak existing features, or create entirely new ones.
Run Applications Locally: One of my personal goals has always been to enable developers to run applications directly on the device – on the bare metal. This upcoming open-source release is the key to making that a reality. Imagine the possibilities when you can fully harness the hardware’s capabilities!
Our Roadmap to Open Source
We’re committed to making this transition as smooth and impactful as possible. Here’s a quick look at our roadmap to fully release the Neurosity OS as open source by the end of October:
Sanitization & Internal Testing (Early September): We’re currently focused on sanitizing the codebase and conducting rigorous internal testing. This step is crucial to ensure the OS is secure, clean, and ready for further scrutiny.
Small Alpha Release (Late September): Following our internal testing, we’ll launch a small alpha release to a select group of developers. This phase will help us gather early feedback and identify any critical issues before the broader release.
Pre-Release & Community Feedback (Early October): We’ll then release a pre-launch version of the OS to a larger group within the community. This will allow us to collect valuable insights and make final adjustments ahead of the official open-source launch.
What’s Next?
We’re on track to fully open-source the Neurosity OS by the end of October. This is a pivotal moment for our community, and we’re excited to see what you’ll create with this newfound freedom and flexibility.
